The Heart Is Rooted

Restoring the radiance of the heart through the body and the Earth

There is a way we’ve been taught to understand the heart as something above, something elevated, something we rise into.

But what I’ve come to listen is this:

The heart does not float. The heart roots.

The radiance of the heart is not something we ascend toward. It is something we restore through remembering where it is anchored.

When I sit with the body ~ mine, and the bodies of those I work with ~ I don’t experience the heart as an isolated center. I experience it as a living field of intelligence that extends downward, softly and continuously, rooting.

The heart reaches into the sacral, into the seat of the body ~ the place where sensation lives, where creation begins, where life first organizes itself into form.

This is not conceptual. This is anatomical, energetic, and deeply relational.

If the heart is the song, the sacral is the instrument that allows that song to be felt.

And beneath that, the sacral itself is held, cradled, resting inside something even more ancient.

The body is not the origin.
The body is rooted in the Earth.

There is a remembering that happens when we allow this truth, that the heart is not only connected to the body, but that the body is connected to the Earth in the same way a root system belongs to soil.

What we call healing, what we call restoration, is often the process of returning to this continuity. Not fixing. Not forcing. But reconnecting the lines that were never meant to be severed.

When the heart loses its radiance, it is rarely because something is wrong with the heart. It is because the heart has lost connection to what feeds it.

The Body.

The Earth.

The Sacred.

The Holy.

To restore the radiance of the heart is to restore its root system. It is to allow the heart to once again draw from the deeper reservoirs of life ~ from sensation, from embodiment, from the living divine field of Life itself.

This is why presence matters. This is why slowness matters. This is why learning to feel, without immediately naming, fixing, or escaping ~ becomes essential.

Feeling and being with is how the root system comes back online.

The heart does not need to be taught how to shine. It remembers when it is connected.

And when it is connected, something else becomes available ~ a sense of being held. Not just emotionally, but eternally.

A knowing that you are not separate, that your life is not happening in isolation, that you are part of a field that is intelligent, responsive, and alive.

This is what I am listening, when I call myself a Heart Doula.

Not just the opening of the heart, but the midwifing of the conditions that allow the heart to root and rise again ~ into the body, into the Earth, into the great field of life that is always holding us.

From here, radiance is not something we chase.

It is something that naturally returns.

✧ A gentle invitation

If something in you is ready to reconnect with this root system ~
to listen more deeply to the intelligence of your body
and restore the radiance of your heart ~
